I can’t believe Doomsday is almost here. I applied for Solocom a few months ago, with the vague idea of creating a show in the same vein as some of my other creations, Sir Reginald and Life’s Yearning. For those of you who don’t know about Solocom, it’s an amazing solo comedy festival that The PIT produces every year. In my opinion, Solocom is the best thing that The PIT produces - hundreds of performers come together and put on brand new solo comedy shows. Sir Reginald actually premiered at the 2016 Solocom before starting it’s 2017 run at Reckless Theatre in NYC.

Doomsday is a brand new creation of mine. It tells the story of Alexander Shaw, a secret agent tasked with stopping the launch of the mysterious “Doomsday Device” by the evil villain, Engel Ziegler. Gadgets, guns, and gambling follows in a high-octane 25 minute show where all the characters are played by me. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there are some sequences that are ridiculously fun.

The show goes up as part of the festival on Saturday, November 23rd at 8:30PM, and you can get tickets on The PIT’s website. It’s in The PIT Loft space on 29th Street, which is one of my favorite spaces in NYC. What’s more, I’m sharing the hour-long show with the amazing Patrick Williams (my writing partner and co-creator of Life’s Yearning).

Patrick’s Solocom show is going to be so so great - I’ve already seen sections of it in our writing/rehearsal sessions, and I just love it to pieces - it’s called The Bert Weinerlink Story: One soap opera actor's journey from kind of famous to absolutely infamous. A live one person Farce/Tragi-comedy. Two solo shows for the price of one - come on! You gotta get tickets and come see these shows!
